<br />Commission Minutes--November 16, 1998 1899 <br /> <br />Commissioners were in agreement with the date and time of Monday, December 14, 1998, at <br />Noon for a luncheon with Cass County legislators, commissioners and department heads in the <br />Commission Room. Notices of the legislative luncheon will be mailed this week. <br /> <br />Commissioner Quick and Bonnie Johnson will be panelists at a Fargo-Moorhead Chamber of <br />Commerce intergovernmental retreat on December 10, 1998, at the Ramada Plaza Suites and <br />Conference Center. <br /> <br />Buildings and grounds updates by Ms. Johnson included a report on sewage system back-up <br />at the Annex last Friday, apparently caused by the flushing of a towel down a toilet in the <br />juvenile detention center. Ms. Johnson also reported that the refrigerator in the basement <br />kitchen of the Annex quit working. The Board was agreeable to Mr. Koenig's offer to donate a <br />used refrigerator rather than purchasing a new one. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland reminded Commissioners of the Cass County Township Officer's Association <br />meeting in Casselton on November 17, 1998. <br /> <br />Being a member of the North Dakota Association of Counties legislative committee for 1999, <br />Mr. Wieland said he will be attending meetings in Bismarck on December 3rd and 7th and will not <br />be present at the next Commission meeting. <br /> <br />19. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br />public meeting notice of Metropolitan Council of Governments Transportation <br />Improvement Program scheduled for 7:00 PM on November 19, 1998, at <br />Moorhead City Hall, 500 Center Avenue, Moorhead, MN; <br />two letters regarding proposed flood protection south of Fargo; <br />Fargo Cass Public Health 3rd quarter report for services provided; <br />notice of annual North Dakota Association of County Engineers Institute to be <br />held January 27-29, 1999, at the Doublewood Inn, Bismarck, ND. <br /> <br />20. FLOOD UPDATE, Report from Lake Agassiz Regional Council <br />Commissioners discussed flood-related activities with Irv Rustad, Lake Agassiz Regional <br />Council. He provided a list of properties being considered for the second round of buy-outs. <br /> <br />21.
