<br />Commission Minutes--November 2, 1998 1889 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Meyer seconded that the cost of the <br />approach and installing stop signs be borne by Sinner Bros. & <br />Bresnahan; and that the intent of this motion for additional access is <br />to provide an exemption to Cass County Commission Policy Section <br />9.40, and not to create a change in the current policy. Motion carried <br />on roll call vote with Mr. Koenig, Mr. Wieland and Mr. Meyer voting <br />"Aye," Mrs. Schneider opposing and Mrs. Quick abstaining. <br /> <br />11. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve Vouchers No. <br />120,916 through No. 121,314. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />12. KID'S VOTING UPDATE; ABATEMENT FOR ORVILLE IWEN; COURTHOUSE PARKING LOT <br />SEAL COATED, Committee reports <br />State's Attorney John Goff reported on speaking to third-grade school children at Nativity <br />Catholic School in support of Kids Voting, since tomorrow is election day. County Coordinator <br />Bonnie Johnson will assist with Kids Voting at a Fargo election precinct tomorrow. <br /> <br />Mr. Meyer reported on continuance ofthe tax abatement application submitted by Orville Iwen. <br />Mrs. Schneider asked him to schedule this abatement on the next Commission agenda, giving <br />Mr. Iwen an opportunity to be present. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson reported that the Courthouse parking lot was seal-coated over the weekend. <br /> <br />13. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />response from Douglas Friez, State Director, Division of Emergency Management, <br />regarding status of funding requests for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program <br />projects; <br /> <br />correspondence regarding transfer of programs and staff, by-laws and contract <br />between Lake Agassiz Regional Council and Lake Agassiz Regional <br />Development Corporation from State's Attorney and Irv Rustad, Lake Agassiz <br />Regional Council Director; <br /> <br />petitions containing about 350 signatures, presented by Terry Compson, and <br />letter from Richard and Carol Freeman regarding proposed diking system for flood <br />control; <br /> <br />petitions containing about 300 signatures requesting County Road 14 <br />improvements and response from Chairperson that the project was added to the <br />
