<br />Commission Minutes--October 5, 1998 1877 <br /> <br />12. UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN, Casual Day aDproved for county employees <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to authorize each Friday <br />as "Casual Day for United Way" to all county employees who <br />contribute a minimum of $5.00 per month to United Way of Cass- <br />Clay. This "casual day" is authorized providing it does not interfere <br />with employees' job duties, and department heads shall determine <br />what is acceptable casual attire within their department. The last <br />Friday of each month is designated as "casual day" for all county <br />employees. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />13. CONTRACT APPROVAL, Blue Cross Blue Shield <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to approve the following <br />contract submitted by respective department head and portfolio <br />commissioner, subject to state's attorney approval; and authorize <br />the chairperson to sign: Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota for <br />employee health insurance coverage. On roll call vote, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />14. DISASTER EMERGENCY SERVICES, Hazard Mitigation Grant Program <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to authorize the <br />chairperson to sign a letter to the State Director of Emergency <br />Management regarding Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. On roll call <br />vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />15. ROAD ADVISORY COMMITTEE, Ratify actions of October 5. 1998 <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to authorize the addition <br />of Cass County Highway 14 to the County Federal Aid System and <br />authorize the chairperson to sign a letter to the North Dakota <br />Department of Transportation requesting this change. On roll call <br />vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to approve the addition <br />of improvement projects to the County Federal Aid Program, as <br />outlined on the list provided by the County Engineer dated October <br />2, 1998. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />16. VETERANS SERVICE, Appreciation for movie showing of "Saving Private Ryan" <br />An award ceremony was held on the Courthouse front entrance plaza with Commissioners and <br />veterans' organizations thanking the Century 7 Theatre and Forum Communications for the <br />movie showing of "Saving Private Ryan." <br />
