<br />Commission Minutes-July 20, 1998 1843 <br /> <br />Also, Mrs. Quick asked if another Commissioner could represent her at a meeting of the Lake <br />Agassiz Regional Development Corporation at 1 :30 PM on July 28, 1998. Mr. Meyer may be <br />able to attend in her place, and Mr. Rustad will be contacted to see if their by-laws will permit him <br />to serve as a voting member. <br /> <br />Mr. Koenig reported the Tax Incentive Committee has met, and the State's Attorney drafted <br />changes to Commission Policy Section 34.00. The proposed policy will be presented forthe next <br />Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Michael Montplaisir, County Auditor, reported he is receiving budget requests from outside <br />agencies. <br /> <br />Bonnie Johnson gave a buildings and grounds update and reported on vandalism of the parking <br />lot gates and card readers. A report has been filed with the Sheriff's Department. <br /> <br />On behalf of Irv Rustad, Lake Agassiz Regional Development Corporation, Mrs. Johnson asked <br />Commissioners how they would like to proceed on a flood buy-out property purchased from <br />Patrick Scherling. The property was advertised for sale "as is" but no bids were received. <br />Commissioners reached a consensus to re-advertise the Scherling property for sale "as is" and <br />also "for salvage" to see if that will generate more interest in the property. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland reported on the benefit of holding road informational meetings throughout the county <br />these past few weeks. Mr. Meyer has attended water resource board meetings. <br /> <br />20. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOT/ON, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />copy of letters from State's Attorney and from the North Dakota Attorney General <br />concerning Lake Agassiz Regional Council/Lake Agassiz Regional Development <br />Corporation meetings, the next one being scheduled for 1 :30 PM Monday, August 3, <br />1998, at the Cass County Sheriff's Residence conference room; <br /> <br />letter from Jeannette Stanton, Fargo, and response from Commission chairperson <br />regarding the county's portfolio system; <br /> <br />letter from Robert B. Sinner, of Sinner Brothers & Breshnahan, requesting reconsideration <br />of the Board's motion of July 6, 1998, denying request for additional private drive on <br />County Highway #10; and <br /> <br />letter from North Dakota Government Finance Officers Association congratulating Cass <br />County government on being awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in <br />Financial Reporting. <br />
