<br />Commission Minutes-July 20,1998 1839 <br /> <br />9. PLAT APPROVAL, Final plat of Greyhawk Estates Subdivision <br />MOT/ON, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the Cass County <br />Board of Commissioners grant Final Plat approval to Greyhawk <br />Estates Subdivision, SE% of Section 6 of Township 138N, Range 49W <br />in Cass County, North Dakota. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />10. STATE'S ATTORNEY, Budget adiustment for temporary salaries <br />MOT/ON, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve budget <br />adjustment for Cass County State's Attorney's Office to use 1998 <br />salary roll-up funds for temporary salaries from August 1 through <br />December 31,1998. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />11. ORDINANCE #1998-3, Animal control ordinance adopted <br />This was the time and place advertised for second reading/adoption of an animal control <br />ordinance. First reading of the ordinance was held June 15, 1998, and notice of the proposed <br />ordinance was published in the county's official newspaper on June 22, 1998. <br /> <br />Sheriff Don Rudnick said the proposed ordinance was reviewed by the attorney for the American <br />Kennel Association, and the language is acceptable to them. Mrs. Schneider invited other <br />comments. Commissioners have been contacted by a number of rural county residents who <br />favor the ordinance. Richard Thomas, who lives in the Forest River area, was present to speak <br />in favor of the county adopting such an ordinance. No one else asked to speak at this time. <br />MOT/ON, passed <br />Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to adopt Ordinance #1998- <br />3, Animal Control Ordinance, to promote the public health, safety, <br />comfort and general welfare of the county through the proper control <br />and care of animals by their owners and others; and to have the State's <br />Attorney publish this ordinance with all other county ordinances into <br />a handbook for Cass County law enforcement officials. On roll call <br />vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />12. ROAD DEPARTMENT, Gravel road maintenance funding <br />Keith Berndt, County Engineer, brought back a request from the June 15th meeting for <br />authorization to purchase another $400,000 worth of gravel for road maintenance. He discussed <br />this topic, as well as some suggested funding sources, at the Road Advisory Committee meeting <br />held earlier today. <br /> <br />Road improvements were the topic of conversation at several informal meetings conducted <br />around the county these past few weeks by Mr. Berndt and Mr. Wieland, Road Portfolio <br />Commissioner. Other members of the Commission also attended some of these public input <br />meetings, and Mr. Wieland said it was very informative. He suggested allocating some of the <br />gravel money to repair soft spots in roads. <br />MOT/ON, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to authorize the County <br />Engineer to exceed the gravel budget line item by up to $400,000, this <br />
