<br />Commission Minutes-June 1, 1998 1819 <br /> <br />Bond financing, and Mr. Stewart responded that this issue brings the county's total to $4.5 million <br />at this time. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider invited additional comments and hearing none, suggested a motion to close the <br />public hearing. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to close the public <br />hearing on MIDA Bond application for North Dakota State University <br />Development Foundation. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to adopt Resolution #1998- <br />11 Authorizing the Issuance of Municipal Industrial Development <br />Revenue bonds under Chapter 40-57 N.D.C.C. and Authorizing the <br />Preparation of Necessary Documents Therefore (NDSU Alumni Center <br />Project); subject to the State's Attorney's review. On roll call vote, <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />15. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to approve Vouchers No. <br />115,475 through No. 115,943. ELECTION EQUIPMENT; BUILDING AND GROUNDS UPDATE; JAIL REPORT; STATE'S <br />ATTORNEY REPORT; COURTHOUSE SECURITY, Committee reports <br />In the absence of Michael Montplaisir, County Auditor, who is conducting a training session <br />today for election workers, Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, reported that new election <br />equipment is being demonstrated on election day at two Cass County precincts, Metropolitan <br />Baptist Church and Discovery School. Mr. Montplaisir would like Commissioners to visit the site <br />and observe the equipment in operation. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson updated the Commission on the progress of county buildings and grounds projects. <br />She has signed up again to participate in the Summer Youth Employment Program through North <br />Dakota Job Service, who pays the salary for the summer employment of one participant to work <br />in the maintenance department of Cass County government. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland reported on his recent trip with Sheriff Don Rudnick to visit with the Grand Forks <br />County Commissioners on the subject of jails. The group discussed the possibility of <br />constructing a shared jail facility at Hillsboro, North Dakota. <br /> <br />John Goff, State's Attorney, talked about using DNA evidence in a recent murder trial, and he <br />was assisted by the FBI but will be looking at including funding for DNA testing in the next <br />budget. Mr. Goff also commented on the importance of security officers at the entrance to <br />county buildings and about an employment matter he intends to bring up at a later date <br /> <br />Mrs. Quick reported on an upcoming Social Services Planning meeting, and she said the Flood <br />Master Planning Committee will meet at the Courthouse on June 18th.
