<br />Commission Minutes-May 4, 1998 1808 <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider said she is meeting later today with the Sheriff, Commissioner Wieland and Mrs. <br />Johnson to discuss the next steps concerning the jail planning. <br /> <br />Cass County government received a check in the amount of $13,019.78 for participating in the <br />Risk Management Program, according to Mrs. Johnson. She said county departments are to be <br />commended for working to keep Worker's Compensation rates low. <br /> <br />16. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />letter from FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) dated April 15, 1998 <br />regarding final flood hazard determination for flood insurance purposes; <br /> <br />copy of letter from Barnes County Soil Conservation District to the North Dakota State <br />Water Commission regarding drainage into the Sheyenne River; <br /> <br />letter from U.S. Department of Justice, National Institute of Corrections, acknowledging <br />receipt of Cass County government's request for participation in the PONI workshop. <br /> <br />17. EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />MOTION, passed <br />Upon motion by Mr. Wieland and seconded by Mr. Koenig, the Chairman <br />declared the meeting recessed at 4:30 PM in order for the Board to hold an <br />executive session with their counsel, Ron Fischer, Grand Forks, ND. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The regular session resumed at approximately 6:14 PM. <br /> <br />18.
