Mr. Steiner does not anticipate any problems with the telephone or voice mail system either. Mrs. Quick inquired about State-oriented programs used by Cass County, and Mr. Steiner said Social Services and Regional Child Support Enforcement would be affected by State computer programs. Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, said there is a lot of equipment with internal time clocks from the buildings and grounds standpoint, and she has begun inquiring about their compatibility in the year 2000. MOTION, passed Mrs. Quick moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to appoint a committee consisting of Mike Steiner, Mike Montplaisir, Bonnie Johnson, Keith Bemdt and Kathy Hogan to review the year 2000 computer situation and report back to the Board on any actions to be taken. Motion carried. Mr. Wieland will ask Mike Steiner to chair the committee. FLOOD UPDATE, Lake Agassiz Regional Council Irv Rustad, Lake Agassiz Regional Development Corporation, reported on the remainder of home buy-outs. He has not received a response yet on Cass County's waiver request to HUD (Department of Housing and Urban Development). Mr. Rustad provided a hand-out regarding the next stage of the buy-out program, sale of about 20 single family houses recently acquired through the buy-out process. Houses will be open for inspection on December 6 and 7, 1997, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and sealed bids will be received in the office of the Cass County Auditor until 11:00 AM on December 30, 1997. All salvage must be removed by March 1, 1998 and "as is" structures must be removed by July 1, 1998, according to the bidding instructions prepared by Mr. Rustad. VOUCHERS, Ap_nroved MOTION, passed Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve Voucher No. 108,991 through No. 109,604. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. MEETING UPDATES; NDACO COMPUTER CLASSES, Committee reports Mr. Meyer reported the Water Resource Boards are still working with flood situations from last spring. Mrs. Quick said the Flood Control Master Plan Committee is meeting this Thursday at 9:00 AM in the Commission Room. Mrs. Quick also reported she attended a meeting of the multi-county extension service advisory group in Hillsboro, and she plans to attend a meeting at the Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan Council of Governments (COG) this week. Mr. Wieland also plans to attend the COG meeting and said all commissioners are invited, as well. Bonnie Johnson said she received a second notice of the dates for computer classes for county commissioners being sponsored by the North Dakota Association of Counties.
