11. <br /> <br />12. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes--November 17, 1997 1744 <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, Ap_~roved MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve Voucher No. <br /> 108,445 through No. 108,990. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />STORM POLICY REVIEWED; MEETING UPDATES; FLOOD MASTER PLAN COMMITTEE; <br />PERSONNEL-SPONSORED TRAINING; JOINT COMMUNICATIONS; WORKER'S <br />COMPENSATION AUDIT; PERSONNEL POLICY REVIEW; COMMISSION PLANNING SESSION; <br />HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT RECOGNITION, Committee reports <br /> <br />With the approaching winter season, Mr. Wieland suggested that commissioners review Personnel <br />Policy Section 7.60, Inclement Weather. Jim Thoreson was present at this time and said the <br />Sheriffs Department will attempt to disseminate storm closing information to the media by 6:00 AM, <br />and no later than 7:00 AM. County employees will be reminded of the telephone number to call <br />for updated information on county offices closing during inclement weather. <br /> <br />John Goff, State's Attorney, Commissioners Quick, Koenig and Schneider reported on meetings <br />they recently attended and upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />The Flood Master Plan Committee, to be chaired by Commissioner Quick, is meeting tomorrow <br />at 9:00 AM in the Commission Room at the Courthouse. <br /> <br />Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, reported on personnel-sponsored training sessions being <br />held this week in the Annex conference room on the topics of Conflict Resolution, Developing a <br />Flexible Leadership Style, and Stress Management. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson and County Auditor, Michael Montplaisir, met with Brad Schmidt, Cass County <br />Electric Cooperative, Inc. regarding the future of joint communications for Cass County. The <br />Commission will be asked to look at this issue in the near future. <br /> <br />According to Mrs. Johnson, a Worker's Compensation Audit will be conducted in Cass County this <br />Wednesday. The audit will help identify safety and risk factors in the county, thus reducing claims <br />and saving premiums. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider said she intends to make some suggestions in writing concerning the county's <br />personnel policy manual and the possibility of hiring an outside consultant to review current <br />policies. <br /> <br />It was suggested by Mrs. Schneider to schedule a 1998 planning session among commissioners <br />following the first meeting in December, and everyone was in agreement. <br /> <br />Mrs. Quick presented a plaque to County Engineer, Keith Berndt, provided by the United Methodist <br />Church for the Highway Department's cooperation in storing flood recovery supplies. The church <br />recently constructed a warehouse in Fargo and have now removed supplies from the Highway <br />Department. <br /> <br /> <br />
