17. <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes--November 3, 1997 1741 <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir reported on completion of computations for most of the tax levies in the county. <br /> <br />Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, reported on the carpet project at the Cass County Annex. She <br />also reported on a Fargo Chamber of Commerce leadership seminar at the county on November 6th, <br />in which she and Commissioner Meyer will participate, as well as a program on November 12th <br />regarding welfare reform issues. On November 24th, Mrs. Johnson will make a presentation to the <br />North Dakota Supreme Court concerning Cass County's personnel system and outsourcing of the <br />wage and reclassification plan. Her expenses will be paid by the State of North Dakota. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider said the subcommittee which has been reviewing an e-mail and internet policy will <br />request time on the next Personnel Overview Committee agenda, and copies of the proposed policy <br />will be provided to all commissioners. <br /> <br />In reference to a proposed river ordinance, Mr. Wieland reminded commissioners, the State's <br />Attorney, Sheriff and County Engineer to review the proposed ordinance from the Clay County <br />Attorney's Office and provide comments to the County Coordinator as soon as possible. <br /> <br />Commissioners received a copy of correspondence to Chairman Wieland from Walt Willis, Cass <br />County Jail Administrator, regarding the current inmate population and problems caused by <br />overcrowding. Mr. Wieland is working to complete the jail task force report. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to receive and file <br /> correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />letter from Cass County FSA Committee regarding noxious weed problem on the wildlife area <br />at Alice (referred to County Engineer); <br /> <br />copy of letter to City of Fargo Public Works from Southeast Cass Water Resource District <br />regarding their review of the 45th Street Southwest Storm Sewer Project; and <br /> <br />letter from North Dakota Division of Emergency Management regarding 1997 disaster <br />response and recovery. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT MOTION, passed <br /> On motion by Mr. Koenig and seconded by Mrs. Schneider, the meeting <br /> was adjourned about 6:30 PM. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />APPROVED: <br /> <br />' Mi(~hael Mor{tpiaisir - Auditor <br />Cass County, North Dakota <br /> <br />Alon Wieland, Chairman ~ <br />Cass County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br /> <br />
