At the call for the question and upon roll call vote, motion <br />failed with Mrs. Quick and Mrs. Schneider voting "Aye"; Mr. Wieland, Mr. <br />Meyer and Mr. Koenig voting "No." <br /> <br />The Board recessed for 15 minutes at 3:15 PM. Mrs. Quick had a prior commitment at this time and <br />did not return for the remainder of the meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland asked if there would be any objections to adding items unrelated to the budget for board <br />action today. Hearing no objections, he proceeded with the following three items. <br /> <br />FAIR ASSOCIATION, Delea_ates to State Fair annual meeting MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to appoint Roy Faught, <br /> Lois Sullivan and Tim Clark as Cass County delegates to the 1997 State <br /> Fair Association annual meeting scheduled for November 5, 1997, at the <br /> All Seasons Arena, Minot, ND. Motion carried. <br /> <br />LETTER OF CONDOLENCE, Don Trautman family MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to send a letter of condolence <br /> to the family of the late Donald C. Trautman, who completed a number of <br /> construction projects at the Cass County Courthouse, including <br /> remodeling the historic front entrance to make the building more <br /> accessible for all people and more functional for the future. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #1997-30, Condolence to Jim Berg family MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to adopt Resolution <br /> #1997-30 as follows: On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Cass County Commissioners has learned of the death of Senator <br />Jim Berg of Fargo, North Dakota; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Jim Berg served as State Senator during the past session of the North Dakota <br />State Legislature. Prior to that, in 1993, he served in the State House of Representatives. <br />Mr. Berg was also a member of the Cass County School Reorganization Committee. <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Board of Commissioners of Cass County, North <br />Dakota, does hereby express its heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Jim Berg. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be inscribed upon the permanent records <br />of the proceedings of the Board of County Commissioners and a copy forwarded to his family. <br /> <br />Dated at Fargo, North Dakota, this 22nd day of September, 1997. <br /> <br /> <br />
