At the call for the question
and upon roll call vote, the motion carried with Mrs. Schneider voting
"No"; Mr Wieland, Mr. Meyer, Mr. Koenig and Mrs. Quick voting "Aye."

Mr. Wieland said he hopes the Interim Tax Committee will address this issue and submit a
recommendation to the next legislature to clarify the statutes. Mrs. Quick said she would like to have
the procedure clarified relating to holding continuous board of equalization meetings to assure the
county has stayed within the guidelines of State law. Mr. Klein said it would not be practical to meet
every day just to meet the five-day notice guideline. He said this year was unusual in that townships
did not have their assessment books completed, due to the spring flood situation, by the time the
board of equalization convened on June 2nd. Therefore, the county board of equalization
reconvened and recessed four times, in addition to today's meeting.

DURBIN TOWNSHIP, Residential assessments
Mr. Wieland said the last item to be considered by the 1997 county board of equalization involves
residential assessments in Durbin Township.
