17. <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />19. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes--June 16, 1997 1644 <br /> <br />District Court asked Mrs. Johnson about updating security in their area of the Courthouse, and the <br />State of North Dakota agreed to pay for the changes since it was not a part of the 1997 county <br />budget. Estimated costs are $5,400 for hardware, plus installation. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson also reported the Japanese Local Government Institute in New York would like to <br />send its director to Cass County this month since they were impressed with the hospitality shown <br />to an exchange worker who was here last year. She asked commissioners to contact her if they <br />want to be a host in this program. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to receive and file <br /> correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />letter from State Division of Emergency Management dated June 11, 1997, acknowledging <br />receipt of Cass County's Notice of interest to apply for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program <br />funding; <br /> <br />copy of letter from Lake Agassiz Regional Council to State Division of Emergency <br />Management indicating 239 residents of non-incorporated areas of Cass County have <br />requested participation in the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program; <br /> <br />letter from Clay County Board of Commissioners dated June 12, 1997, regarding <br />coordination of flood mitigation efforts; <br /> <br />request for input on Fiscal Year 1998 Work Program Projects for Fargo-Moorhead <br />Metropolitan Council of Governments. <br /> <br />COMMISSION POLICY MANUAL, Amend Section 4.00, Advisory Boards <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Koenig moved and Mr. Meyer seconded to amend Commission Policy <br /> Manual Section 4.00, Advisory Boards, appointing Walter D. Rogers to the <br /> Housing Authority of Cass County for a five-year term expiring July 1, <br /> 2002, replacing John Heuer of Leonard, ND.
