19. <br /> <br />20. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes--May 19, 1997 1629 <br /> <br />The joint meeting of Cass and Clay County Commissioners is rescheduled for noon on June 16, <br />1997, at Seasons Rose Creek, according to Ms. Johnson. <br /> <br />Several of the Commissioners attended community involvement meetings during the past two weeks <br />with the Sheriff's Department. <br /> <br />Commissioners have also been attending flood-related meetings, one in Grand Forks with Governor <br />Ed Schafer, as well as others within Cass County. <br /> <br />Concerning county employees who suffered losses in the recent flood, Mr. Wieland plans to have <br />the Personnel Overview Committee address possible reimbursement of overtime to those with <br />serious misfortunes. The County did allow time off for sandbagging and other volunteer efforts in <br />early to mid-April. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider attended a meeting between the State's Attorney and Social Services staff <br />concerning the Social Services staff attorney. It appears to be working well, with some minor <br />adjustments, she said. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland reported on the Counties Helping Counties Assistance Program through the North <br />Dakota Association of Counties. The program will allow counties to share resources to rebuild their <br />communities after the recent flood disaster. Assistance from Cass County government has been <br />given, or offered, in the area of law enforcement, social services and the auditor's office. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Schneider moved-and Mrs. Quick seconded to receive and file <br /> correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />Order Approving Correction of 1989 Valuation Following Remand in the Trollwood Village tax <br />proceedings from Attorney Robert Hoy; <br />letter from State of North Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs expressing appreciation for <br />allowing Cass County Veterans Service Officer, James Brent, to attend a recent training <br />conference in Bismarck; <br />revised Cass County Highway spring weight restrictions from County Engineer Keith Berndt; <br />invitation to D.A.R.E.
