Commission Minutes--May 19, 1997 1624 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POSt IN a CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> MAY 19, 1997 <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman Alon Wieland called the meeting to order at 3:40 PM with all members present as follows: <br />Donna Schneider, Paul Koenig, John Meyer, Roberta Quick and Alon Wieland. <br /> <br />MINUTES APPROVED MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Schneider moved and Mrs. Quick seconded that the minutes of the <br /> previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />AGENDA, Order approved MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Meyer moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve the order of <br /> the agenda, delaying action on the contract approval with North Dakota <br /> Department of Transportation for bridge replacement in Pontiac Township <br /> at the request of County Engineer, Keith Berndt. Motion carried. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #1997-9 AND #1997-10, Flood-related commendations to staff/other agencies <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Meyer moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to adopt the following <br /> resolutions of commendation to county employees and other agencies <br /> involved in flood-fighting efforts, as read by the chairman. On roll call <br /> vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #1997-9 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cass County has witnessed the most severe flooding in recorded history, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, County Employees responded to the crisis by working countless hours without time off <br /> to protect county residents and to insure public safety. <br /> <br />NOW, <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, <br />that the Board of County Commissioners expresses its sincere appreciation to all County <br />Employees for their dedicated service to Cass County. <br /> <br />In particular, the Board recognizes the contributions of County Engineer, Keith Berndt, and <br />the staff of the County Road Department; Social Services Director, Kathy Hogan, and the <br />entire Social Services staff; Brad Cogdill and the Extension Service staff; and Sheriff Don <br />Rudnick and his staff, including Disaster Emergency Services Director, Glenn Ellingsberg. <br /> <br />Additionally, the county recognizes PEBSCO representative, Mike Allen, who came to Cass <br />County for his semi-annual deferred compensation enrollment and stayed to assist with the <br />community sandbagging efforts. <br /> <br /> <br />
