Commission Minutes--May 5, 1997 1620 <br /> <br />13, <br /> <br />14. <br /> <br />Several commissioners had an opportunity to view Cass County's flood situation from an airplane <br />and to visit with engineers from Moore Engineering Company to get some background information <br />on Red River Valley flooding. Some commissioners have met with the county's water resource <br />boards, and Mr. Wieland invited commissioners and the public to attend a meeting today at the <br />Reed Township Hall at 5:00 PM. He said people from the Devil's Lake area will be in attendance <br />to share information on what is happening in their area. <br /> <br />Mark Smith was present and showed pictures of flooding near his property north of West Fargo <br />along the Sheyenne River. He is still displaced from his home since the first part of April. <br /> <br />A list of county employees affected by recent flooding is being compiled by the County <br />Coordinator for review by the Commission. <br /> <br />John Goff, State's Attorney, reported that he just finished filling new staff positions in the office <br />today, and he will make a more complete report in the next weeks to come. <br /> <br />Three or four commissioners plan to attend the community involvement informal meeting at the <br />Country Cafe in Arthur, ND tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to receive and file <br /> correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation information on special road funds, and notice <br />of bid opening in Bismarck at 9:30 AM on May 16, 1997 for Maple River structure west of <br />Enderlin; <br /> <br />letter from Melissa Leinen, Harwood, and responses from Chairman and County Engineer <br />regarding flood situation. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT MOTION, passed <br /> On motion by Mr. Meyer and seconded by Mr. Koenig, the meeting was <br /> adjourned at 4:30 PM. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />APPROVED: <br /> <br />Cass County, North Dakota <br /> <br />Alon Wieland, Chairman <br />Cass County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br /> <br />
