1) <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />Commission Minutes--February 3, 1997 1580 <br /> <br />COMMUNICATION/EMPLOYEE RELATIONS, Recommendations approved <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to approve the County <br /> Commission Chairman's Communication/Employee Relations Plan <br /> recommendations as follows: On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />The commission will establish two reserved parking spots at the courthouse and two reserved <br />parking spots at the annex building. These parking spots will be awarded to county employees <br />to use for one month at a time. The two reserved spots at the courthouse will be located in the <br />parking lot on the north side of the jail and will be numbered as "2" and "3" in the parking lot. The <br />reserved spots at the annex will be set up in the spring when signs can be installed. Employees <br />will be notified when we are ready to implement the program and the sign-up procedure for <br />participating in the lottery. <br /> <br />The commission will also authorize a "casual day" which will be in addition to the casual days <br />currently offered by the United Way program. Currently, an employee who donates $5 per month <br />to the United Way receives a "casual day" button for the first and third Fridays of each month. <br />The commission "casual day" will be set for the last Friday of each month. <br /> <br />The commission will expand the personnel overview committee to include three county <br />employees. Employees are encouraged to sign up in the personnel office. Selection to the <br />committee will be made by a lottery drawing for a one-year appointment. No department, <br />however, will be represented by more than one employee. <br /> <br />All departments shall have an orientation, or walk-through, for their department with all five <br />commissioners being invited at least one time annually, and more if requested by the department. <br />In addition, each portfolio commissioner will make arrangements to visit each department 2-4 <br />times per year as outlined in our commission work plans; and during at least one of the visits, <br />meet with staff as well. <br /> <br />CONTRACT APPROVAL, Highway building renovations; Reed Township bridge repairs; <br />Fargo-Cass County Economic Development GIFIPACE agreement MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to approve the following <br /> contracts submitted by respective department head and portfolio <br /> commissioner, subject to State's Attorney approval; and authorize the <br /> chairman to sign: On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Highway Department building renovation--Diversified Contractors (general) in the amount <br />of $47,100; Metro Plumbing and Heating (mechanical) in the amount of $168,138; and <br />Magnum Electric (electrical) in the amount of $79,288; <br /> <br />Wanzek Construction for Reed Township bridge repairs in the amount of $56,280; and <br /> <br />Fargo-Cass County Economic Development Growth Initiative Fund/PACE agreement, <br />according to changes recommended by the State's Attorney, John Goff. <br /> <br /> <br />
