20. <br /> <br />21. <br /> <br />22. <br /> <br />23. <br /> <br />24. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes--October 21, 1996 1531 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to forward a copy of <br />the City of Fargo school bus ordinance to State's Attorney, John Goff, <br />for his review and drafting an ordinance for consideration by the Cass <br />County Board of Commissioners. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MAPLE RIVER DAM, Discussion with Maple Valley Alliance <br />Lynn Utke was present representing the Maple Valley Alliance, which is a group of citizens <br />opposed to the Maple River dam project. He provided information and copies of resolutions <br />opposing the dam from the following: Ransom County townships of Liberty, Moore and Coburn; <br />Pontiac, Highland, Clifton, Eldred, Walburg and Watson in Cass County; the cities of Enderlin <br />and Alice; the Ransom County Board of Commissioners; along with a petition signed by residents <br />of the City of Enderlin and surrounding counties. Commissioners suggested that this group <br />present the information to the water resource districts. <br /> <br />APPRAISAL OF TAX-FORFEITED PROPERTY, Hearinp date set for November 4th <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to set the value of the tax- <br /> forfeiture properties as outlined in the list provided by the County <br /> Auditor's Office; and to set the hearing date on the value of property at <br /> 3:30 PM on November 4, 1996. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, A.n_~roved MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Ness seconded to approve Vouchers No. <br /> 94,088 through No. 94,587. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />REFUGEE MEETING; WEED/VECTOR CONTROL OPERATIONS; NDACO RESOLUTIONS, <br />Committee reports <br />Mrs. Schneider reported that Lutheran Social Services is sponsoring a Kurdish refugee <br />informational meeting October 24th at 3:00 PM, Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo. <br /> <br />Mr. Ness commented on how well the weed/vector control operation is going since the <br />consolidation and joint utilization of staff. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland said Cass County government had success with resolutions presented at the North <br />Dakota Association of Counties and County Commissioners Association convention in Bismarck <br />last week. He will be working with Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, to formulate legislation. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Ness seconded to receive and file <br /> correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />Developmental Leave policy from Sharon Anderson, NDSU Extension Service (Chairman <br />Toussaint will draft proposed policy for Commission's consideration); <br /> <br /> <br />
