The budget is scheduled for adoption at a meeting to be held at 3:30 PM on
Monday, September 30, 1996, in the Commission Room. The September 30th meeting will
replace the first meeting in October due to the annual County Commissioners convention and
North Dakota Association of Counties convention being held in Bismarck during that week.

METROPOLITAN COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS, County Road 17 bus loading study
Keith Berndt, County Engineer, introduced Chung Tran from the Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan
Council of Governments, to discuss their recently completed study, "County Road 17 Bus Loading
Study." Cass County Government is being asked to endorse the study and to apply for Federal
safety funds. One part of the project involves flashing beacons and improved signing on County
Road 17, at an estimated cost of $20,000. Cass County is being asked to pay the local share
of $2,000. The second part of the project includes construction of a cul-de-sac at each of two
subdivisions in the project area, these being Sunrise Acres and South River Estates. Residents
in each of those two subdivisions will pay the 10% local share on the cul-de-sacs.

Mr. Berndt recommends proceeding with the project, however, commissioners suggested that he
first obtain a cost estimate on future maintenance, including monthly charge for electricity.

ANNEX PARKING LOT, Drainage Dro_iect
County Coordinator, Bonnie Johnson, requested permission to proceed with the Cass County
Government Annex parking lot drainage project, as discussed at previous meetings. She would
like to accept the Iow bid of Robert Gibb & Sons, Inc. in the amount of $7,180, with formal action
by the Commission at the next meeting. It was the consensus of commissioners to accept the bid
so that work can be completed yet this fall.

ADJOURNMENT MOTION, passed
On motion by Mrs. Schneider and seconded by Mr. Ness, the meeting
was adjourned about 4:15 PM.

ATTEST:

APPROVED:

Michael Mon'{plaisir -/~uditor
Cass County, North Dakota

n Toussaint, Chairman
Cass County Board of Commissioners
