12.

13.

14.

Commission Minutes--August 19, 1996 1506

EAST CENTRAL COMMISSIONERS ASSOCIATION; JAIL ADVISORY TASK FORCE
ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING; BREWER LAKE/COUNTY PARK CAMPSITE, Committee
reports
Mr. Wieland reported that the East Central Commissioners Association will be meeting in Fargo
on September 9, 1996 at 10:00 AM at the Fargo Holiday Inn. State Representative John Dorso
will be the speaker that morning.

The recently appointed Jail Advisory Task Force will hold their first meeting in the Commission
Room at the Courthouse on September 16, 1996, at 1:00 PM.

Mrs. Toussaint said she traveled to the county park at Brewer Lake and reported on some of the
findings in that area. She said there were ten camping trailers left unattended, and it appears
some of them have been there a long time. A number of them had expired license plates. John
Goff, State's Attorney, said he has received a number of telephone calls regarding trailers being
ticketed at Brewer Lake. Mr. Eckert said he doesn't have a problem with people leaving their
camper trailers there because the people who are paying the county park levy are not
complaining about it. Mrs. Toussaint said some of the campers are from other counties and even
from out of state. She has visited with Doug Anderson, Chairman of the County Park Board,
about park matters. Mr. Goff said the Park Board needs to establish policies for use of the area
and signs should be posted to that effect.

CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed
Mr. Ness moved and Mm. Schneider seconded to receive and file
correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried.

notice from State Historical Society that the Shea Site near Embden was entered in the
National Register of Historic Places on July 25, 1996; and

opportunity to comment on North Dakota Department of Transportation project on 13th
Avenue South pedestrian/bike trail in West Fargo city limits (referred to county engineer).

ADJOURNMENT MOTION, passed
On motion by Mr. Ness and seconded by Mr. Wieland, the meeting was
adjourned about 4:00 PM.

ATTEST:

APPROVED:

Michael Montplaisir - Auditor
Cass County, North Dakota

Cass County Board of Commissioners
