Commission Minutes--July 15, 1996 1495 LOST INSTRUMENT BOND, Gale McGuire MOTION, passed Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Ness seconded to receive and file Indemnity Bond on Lost Instrument for Gale McGuire and authorize the county treasurer and county auditor to issue duplicate check. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. ABATEMENT APPLICATION, Approved for Steven & Susan Richard MOTION, passed Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Ness seconded to approve abatement g4033 for Steven & Susan Richard as recommended by Reed Township and County Director of Equalization. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. STATE'S ATTORNEY BUDGET ADJUSTMENT, Grant hire for additional victim/witness advocate MOTION, passed Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Ness seconded to authorize the hiring of an additional victim/witness advocate contingent upon grant funding and that the position be eliminated when grant funds cease. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. MOTION, passed Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Ness seconded to increase revenue in the State's Attorney budget by $11,973.00 and expenditures by the same amount for the "STOP" Violence Against Women grant to hire an additional victim/witness advocate for a 6 month period. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. CONTRACT APPROVAL, Vector and Weed Control Agreements MOTION, passed Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Ness seconded to approve the following contracts submitted by respective department head and portfolio commissioner, subject to State's Attorney approval; and authorize the chairman to sign: Cass County Vector Control Agreements with the cities of Amenia, Mapleton and Fargo; and Cass County Weed Control Agreement with City of Fargo. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. JAIL AND JUVENILE CENTER HOUSING COSTS, Raised Sheriff Don Rudnick said due to increasing housing costs for the Jail and Juvenile Detention Center, he is requesting the housing costs per day be raised. MOTION, passed Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Ness seconded to raise the daily prisoner housing cost from $46.00 per day to $$0.00 per day for budget year 1997. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. MOTION, passed Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Ness seconded to raise the daily rate for the Juvenile Center from $102.00 to $120.00 per day for the budget year 1997. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.
