On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #1996-8, Villa Nazareth Project MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to authorize the <br /> Chairman of the Cass County Board of Commissioners and the County <br /> Auditor to sign RESOLUTION # 1996-8 AUTHORIZING CASS COUNTY, <br /> NORTH DAKOTA, TO RELEASE CERTAIN LAND FROM THE LEASE <br /> AGREEMENT RELATING TO THE COUNTY'S HEALTH FACILITIES <br /> REVENUE BONDS, CATHOLIC HEALTH CORPORATION (VILLA <br /> NAZARETH PROJECT) SERIES 1992, AND TO TRANSFER SAID LAND TO <br /> THE SISTERS OF THE PRESENTATION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY, <br /> A NORTH DAKOTA NON-PROFIT CORPORATION; AND APPROVING <br /> CERTAIN DOCUMENTS AND OTHER MATTERS RELATED THERETO. <br /> Resolution and accompanying documents were reviewed by the State's <br /> Attorney. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />TEAMSTER UNION LOCAL #116, Grant match offered for domestic violence prosecutor <br />Teamster Union Local #116, represented by Dean Cypher, President, and by Kevin Meyer, <br />Secretary-Treasurer, presented a check to the Cass County Commission in the amount of $4,000 <br />to be used as local matching funds to secure a full-time domestic violence prosecutor in the Cass <br />County State's Attorney's Office. <br /> <br />Chairman Toussaint read a letter addressed to Mr. Cypher and Teamster members thanking them <br />for their generous contribution toward funding this position. The State's Attorney's Office submitted <br />a grant application and received funds from the Federal Crime Bill, of which $95,012 was allocated <br />to the State of North Dakota for the "STOP" Violence Against Women fund. Mrs. Toussaint also <br />thanked the members of the State's Attorney's Office for making the presentation to the Teamster <br />Union, which led to the presentation of the local matching funds today. <br /> <br />TAX EQUALIZATION BOARD, Convened for 1996/Recess to June 17th meeting <br />The Board convened as the 1996 County Board of Tax Equalization. Frank Klein, Director of <br />Equalization, provided a written report to Commissioners dated May 29, 1996. He estimated the <br />1996 net taxable valuation at $189,004,397, which is an increase of about 6% over 1995. <br /> <br />Equalization of cities--Mr. Klein recommended an increase in residential lot and structure values <br />in a number of cities to put them in line with the market and with other cities in the county. Mrs. <br />Toussaint asked for comments from the audience, and no one asked to speak at this time. <br />MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the residential lot and <br /> structure values be increased in the cities and in the amounts as listed <br /> below: On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
