Commission Minutes--June 3, 1996 1482 VEHICLE DISPOSAL; COURTHOUSE REMODELING COMPLETION; NDACo SAFETY PLAN, Committee re_oorts Bonnie Johnson reported on behalf of the County Auditor that two vehicles were sold at auction last week. The County received $7,000 for one Blazer and $1,750 for the BMVV. Ms. Johnson reported that third and fourth floor remodeling of the Courthouse south wing is nearly completed, and she reported on annual maintenance projects throughout the building, such as carpet cleaning and wood floor refinishing. Mrs. Toussaint read a letter which she will be sending to Mark Johnson, Executive Director of the North Dakota Association of Counties, informing them that implementation of their safety program is not feasible at this time because operation of the program would cost more than the possible 5% reduction in premiums. The information will be forwarded to the County Finance Committee as they prepare the budget for 1997. Ms. Johnson and Mr. Montplaisir will be meeting with Jay Crawford later this week concerning this program. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Ness seconded to receive and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. letter from Attorney Daniel Twichell regarding county's special assessment policy (referred to County Auditor and Finance Committee); copy of memorandum to County Engineer, Keith Berndt, from James McLaughlin, Chairman of Cass County Joint Water Resource District, regarding drainage permits; letter from Cass County Council on Aging, Inc. and response from Chairman Toussaint regarding rural bus transportation. ADJOURNMENT MOTION, passed On motion by Mrs. Schneider and seconded by Mr. Wieland, the meeting was adjourned about 4:46 PM.
