23, <br /> <br />24. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes--May 6, 1996 1470 <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider received a report for the months of January, February and March, 1996, from the <br />Cass County Veterans Service Office, prepared by James G. Brent. She will make it available <br />for other Commissioners to read. <br /> <br />Mrs. Toussaint received a request from the City of Davenport for the County to adopt an <br />ordinance under the Home Rule Charter for the control of dogs and cats. She referred the letter <br />to the Sheriff's Department for review and comment on whether they believe such an ordinance <br />is needed in Cass County. <br /> <br />Mrs. Toussaint reported on confirmation to the State Department of Agriculture of the designation <br />of Joel Young as Weed Control Officer. Also, she reported from the last Weed Control Board <br />meeting on the purchase of spray equipment and their discussion about controlling problem <br />weeds which are not included in the North Dakota Century Code listing of noxious weeds. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to receive and file <br /> correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />copies of information from County Engineer Keith Berndt as follows: letter to Sarah Vogel, State <br />Commissioner of Agriculture, regarding Cass County's noxious weed control program; update on <br />school crossing improvements at Casselton; status of county roads/flood activities; sale of paint <br />striping machine; and letter to ND DOT regarding bridge project between Sections 28-29, Maple <br />River Township; <br /> <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation information on special road funds and flood damage <br />on county roads (referred to county engineer for response), and notice of bid opening May 17, <br />1996 at 9:30 AM on Casselton school crossing improvements; <br /> <br />memorandum from County Auditor Michael Montplaisir regarding reimbursement from State of <br />North Dakota for portion of county costs associated with February Presidential Primary. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT MOTION, passed <br /> On motion by Mr. Eckert, seconded by Mr. Ness, and all voting in favor, <br /> the meeting adjourned about $:00 PM. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />APPROVED: <br /> <br /> ael Montplaisir - Auditor <br />Cass County, North Dakota <br /> <br />Sharon Toussaint, Chairman <br />Cass County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br /> <br />
