Comm. Minutes--April 17, 1995 1325 <br /> <br />24. <br /> <br />25. <br /> <br />26. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to refer the <br />State's Attorney's letter of April 7, 1995, to the Vehicle <br />Policy Committee. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VECTOR/WEED CONTROL, Operations changes to Road Department <br />Commissioners received a memorandum dated April 13, 1995, from Keith <br />Berndt saying one of the objectives of the 1995 weed and vector <br />control work plans was to move the vector control operation to the <br />highway and weed buildings. The move would involve relocating the <br />administrative functions of both the vector and weed offices to the <br />highway administration building, according to Mr. Berndt. MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to direct <br /> the County Engineer to proceed with moving the vector <br /> control operation to the county highway and weed buildings <br /> and moving the weed administrative functions to the highway <br /> administration building. Discussion: Mr. Eckert said the <br /> feasibility of combining these departments has been <br /> discussed previously and he questions if it is a workable <br /> situation. Mr. Wieland asked if the change will create a <br /> space problem in the Highway Department building, and Mr. <br /> Berndt said current space can be better utilized. At the <br /> call for the question and on roll call vote, the motion <br /> carried with four members voting "Aye," Mr. Eckert <br /> opposing. <br /> <br />WORK PLAN QUARTERLY REPORT <br />Work plan reports were received from all county departments, and <br />commissioners updated the board on progress in each of their portfolio <br />departments. <br /> <br />NDACo LEGISLATIVE MEETING; COURTHOUSE SECURITY; PERSONNEL RECORDS <br />IMAGING PROJECT; SOCIAL SERVICES REGIONAL MEETING; AUDIT BEING <br />CONDUCTED, Committee reports <br />County Coordinator Bonnie Johnson will be one of the speakers at a <br />legislative follow-up meeting in Bismarck on Monday, April 24th. In <br />addition to Mrs. Johnson attending the meeting, Mr. Wieland, Kathy <br />Hogan and Michael Montplaisir will be there. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson reported that county department heads are in agreement <br />with using a computer card system for accessing the courthouse once <br />full security is in place. <br /> <br />Imaging of personnel records is now being implemented, and Mrs. <br />Johnson said the project should be completed by year-end. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland reminded commissioners of a regional meeting of County <br />Social Services Boards being held in Valley City on April 19, 1995, <br />to review human service legislative changes. <br /> <br />The State Auditor's Office is presently conducting the annual audit <br />of Cass County records, according to County Auditor Michael <br />Montplaisir. <br /> <br /> <br />
