Comm. Minutes--February 21, 1995 1303

Mrs. Toussaint asked if the computer conversion project and the need
for temporary salaries will be finished prior to the 1996 budget, and
Mrs. Ziegelmann said she hopes so but there is no guarantee they will
be on-line by October, 1995, as anticipated. The goal is to get 95%
reimbursement on overtime funds, and use of these overtime funds will
significantly reduce the need for hiring employees from the temporary
salaries line item, according to Mrs. Ziegelmann. MOTION, passed
Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to amend the
overtime budget in the Regional Child Support Enforcement
Unit by an additional appropriation of $10,958.00 and to
amend the revenue budget by ~10,540.00. On roll call vote,
motion carried unanimously.

13.

WORKER'S COMPENSATION CLAIM; COURTHOUSE FUEL TANK COVER REPAIR,
Committee reports
County Coordinator Bonnie Johnson reported that Cass County Government
was served with a notice from Worker's Compensation of a $12,200 claim
for an employee who was injured while working in the Cass County Jail.
She said the claim will affect the county's premium rating for the
next five years.

After the last snowfall, the cover on the fuel tank in the alley
between the courthouse and jail was damaged by county snow removal
equipment. Because the cover was designed to shed water, it is
elevated above the pavement and was not visible under the recent 6"
of snow. Mrs. Johnson is working with R & R Petroleum on a new design
for the cover with an estimated cost of $1,400, which would be paid
from the Buildings and Grounds budget.

14.

CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed
Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to receive
and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as
follows: Motion carried.

letter from Lyle Andvik and response from Chairman Bernie Ness
regarding traffic congestion in the Fargo Dome area;
request to participate in the Pembina Bicentennial Committee's
"Wall of North Dakota" project;
memo from County Coordinator Bonnie Johnson indicating Cass
County Government will become an information provider for
Prairie On-Line computer services;
Officer's reports for January, 1995 (Clerk of Court report not
available).

15.

ADJOURNMENT
MOTION, passed
On motion by Mrs. Toussaint and seconded by Mr. Eckert, the
meeting was adjourned about 4:30 PM.

ATTEST:

Michael Montplaisir-County Auditor
Cass County, North Dakota

APPROVED:

Bern~ie N e~s s~ ,~, ~hai rman
Cass County Board of Commissioners
