Comm. Minutes--December 19, 1994 1282 <br /> <br />derivative investments. Ms. Sandvik was also present to answer <br />questions. North Dakota state law restricts counties from derivative <br />investments, and Ms. Sandvik said she can only invest funds in <br />certificates of deposit, money market accounts, checking accounts and <br />United States Treasury Bills. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson reported on a meeting regarding the possibility of <br />accessing federal crime bill funds for the purpose of building a jail <br />or prison facility in the eastern part of the state. Mr. Wieland will <br />represent the county commission when the request for funds is made in <br />Bismarck. <br /> <br />Each Commissioner received a 1994 Cass County Vector Control District <br />Annual Report from Joel Young. Mr. Ness publicly thanked Mr. Berndt <br />for encouraging Mr. Young to provide the data and putting the report <br />together. <br /> <br />17. <br /> <br />COMMISSION TERM EXPIRES, Appreciation to outgoing commissioner <br />Steve Risher's term as Cass County Commissioner ends December 31, <br />1994, and he was thanked for his service to the citizens of this <br />county. <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to receive <br /> and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as <br /> follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />memo from Office of Intergovernmental Assistance regarding State <br />Building Code and Energy Code Rules; <br /> <br />letter dated December 15, 1994, from State's Attorney John Goff <br />regarding appointment of Gary Stewart, Assistant Fargo City <br />Attorney, as a Special Assistant States Attorney; <br /> <br />North Dakota Department of Transportation letter dated December <br />1, 1994, regarding Tenth Street and University Drive <br />improvements; and response from Road Department Portfolio <br />Commissioner Toussaint; <br /> <br />Officer's Reports for November, 1994. <br /> <br />19. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> On motion by Mr. Wieland and seconded by Mrs. Toussaint, <br /> the meeting was adjourned at 4:00 PM. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Michael Montplaisir County Auditor <br />Cass County, North Dakota <br /> <br />Cass County Commission <br /> <br /> <br />
