Comm. Minutes--November 7, 1994 1268 <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />19. <br /> <br />20. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Cass <br />County Commission approve implementation of the joint <br />venture project involving Cass County Extension Office and <br />schools identified in the project, with the understanding <br />that the project ends at the end of the grant period. The <br />project could be re-authorized if grant monies are re- <br />authorized. Mr. Cogdill said no local money is involved, <br />and he said the job notice indicates this is a temporary <br />position and employment will terminate when the grant ends. <br />On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, Approved MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Ness seconded that Vouchers No. <br /> 67,676 through No. 68,702 be approved and ordered paid. On <br /> roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />SALE OF COUNTY PROPERTY, Procedure to begin on Everest Township land <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to allow the <br /> county auditor to begin sale procedures on county property <br /> located in Section 2, Everest Township, according to his <br /> letter to the Commission dated November 3, 1994. Motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CASS/CLAY COMMISSIONERS JOINT MEETING; COURTHOUSE ENTRANCE REMODELING; <br />COMPUTER UPGRADE; EAST CENTRAL COMMISSIONERS ASSOCIATION; NDACo LETTER <br />OF THANKS FOR CONVENTION SUCCESS; TOWNSHIP OFFICERS ANNUAL MEETING; <br />ELECTION RESULTS TO BE BROADCAST, Committee reports <br />County Coordinator Bonnie Johnson will contact the Clay County <br />Commission to see if they are interested in holding an informal joint <br />meeting in December with Cass County Commissioners to discuss items <br />of mutual concern. <br /> <br />Mrs. Toussaint reported that three commissioners and the county <br />coordinator traveled to Bismarck last Friday to meet with the State <br />Historical Board; and the proposed Courthouse entrance remodeling <br />project was approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Ness discussed upgrading the AS400 computer system, and Mr. <br />Montplaisir said it appears it will be more feasible to sell the <br />current equipment and purchase a new system. Commissioners were in <br />agreement that Mr. Montplaisir should begin negotiations and come back <br />to the board for a final decision. <br /> <br />The East Central Commissioners Association will be meeting in Fargo <br />December 12, 1994 and arrangements will be made at The Bowler, where <br />they usually meet when Cass County hosts the event. <br /> <br />Mr. Risher read a letter from Mark Johnson, Executive Director of the <br />North Dakota Association of Counties, expressing appreciation for the <br />work done by Cass County Coordinator Bonnie Johnson when the North <br />Dakota Association of Counties and County Commissioners convention was <br />held in Fargo recently. <br /> <br /> <br />
