Minutes--October 17, 1994 1263 <br /> <br />16. <br /> <br />17. <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />APPRAISAL OF TAX-FORFEITED PROPERTY, Hearing date set for November 7th <br />County Auditor Michael Montplaisir provided a list of property <br />forfeited for non-payment of taxes, as well as a letter dated October <br />10, 1994, outlining the process to be followed for the land sale. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to set the value <br /> of ~1,000 on Auditor's Lot 9 in S~ Section 5-139-49. On <br /> roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to set the <br />value of $2,000 on Auditor's Lot 7 in S~ Section 5-139-49, <br />less Auditor's Lots 16-21 and less Auditor's Lots 23-25, <br />On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to set the <br />value of the tax forfeiture properties as outlined in the <br />list provided by the County Auditor's Office. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />EMERGENCY 911, Revenue clarification <br />At the Cass County Commission meeting on September 6, 1994, the Board <br />voted to allow county residents to consider a fifty cent per month <br />per line increase in 911 services on the November 8th election ballot. <br />Currently, the fifty cent fee generates about $40,000 which pays for <br />line costs, equipment, equipment maintenance and signs. The current <br />fee does not cover sign maintenance, mapping or personnel. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert asked that the Board clarify and address the concerns of <br />the rural voters that the money will not be used for other purposes. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Ness seconded that all 911 revenue <br /> generated by the collection of a one dollar per month per <br /> line telephone charge shall be, according to statute, <br /> dedicated for 911 services only. These services shall <br /> include line costs, equipment, equipment maintenance, <br /> signs, sign maintenance, maDDing and personnel. On roll <br /> call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS/DEPARTMENT HEAD MEETING; COMMISSIONERS/NDACo CONVENTION <br />REPORT, Committee reports <br />County Coordinator Bonnie Johnson reported that county department <br />heads elected Dorothy Howard, Clerk of District Court, as group chair. <br />A joint meeting between commissioners and department heads has been <br />scheduled for 11:30-1:30 PM on November 21, 1994, at Jigg's Restaurant <br />in West Fargo. <br /> <br /> <br />
