Comm. Minutes--October 3, 1994 1259 10. 11. State's Attorney John Goff reported that Cass County won a lawsuit involving delinquent property taxes, with $35,000 to be collected and apportioned to the respective taxing authorities. Commissioners received a copy of a letter to the county auditor from the North Dakota Public Employee's Retirement System asking for a recommendation by November 11, 1994, concerning funding a retirement enhancement. Mr. Montplaisir said he referred the letter to the Employee Benefits Committee for a recommendation to the commission. Mr. Risher reported that Cablecom of Fargo has agreed to broadcast election returns on the public access channel after the polls close on election night, and the two major political parties will share the cost with Cablecom for this venture. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to receive and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. letter from Lyle Thomason resigning from the County Cemetery Authority, effective September 24, 1994; Office of Intergovernmental Assistance notice of "Consolidated Plan" public hearings; status report from County Engineer Keith Berndt on 45th Street and 32nd Avenue Southwest overlay project; U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development designation of the Housing Authority of Cass County as a "High Performer" in the Public Housing Management Assessment Program (PHMAP); request from North Dakota State Fair Manager for appointment of delegate to annual meeting (Mr. Eckert will attend); State Historical Society letter regarding Courthouse entrance remodeling plan; copy of letter from North Dakota Public Employees Retirement System concerning benefit enhancement.
