Comm. Minutes--October 3, 1994 1257 DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ. REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OCTOBER 3, 1994 MEETING TO ORDER Chairman Steve Risher called the meeting to order at 3:50 PM with all members present as follows: Don Eckert, Alon Wieland, Bernie M. Ness Sharon "Pepper" Toussaint and Steve Risher. MINUTES APPROVED MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that minutes of the two previous meetings of September 19 and September 27, 1994, be approved as written. Motion carried. AGENDA, Order approved MOTION, passed Mr. Ness moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to approve the order of the agenda adding the following contracts to the consent agenda under contract approval: Department of Corrections, Division of Parole & Probation; Houston Engineering; The Title and Escrow Company; Fargo Community Health Center. Motion carried. PLAT APPROVED, Simple Subdivision #2 in NW~ of Section 6-137-48 MOTION, passed Mr. Wi,land moved and Mr. Ness seconded that the Cass County Board of Commissioners grant final plat approval to Simple Subdivision #2, NW~ of Section 6 in Township 137N Range 48W in Cass County, North Dakota. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. CONTRACT APPROVAL, Department of Corrections; Houston Engineering; Title and Escrow Company; Fargo Community Health Center MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Ness seconded to approve the following contracts submitted by respective department head and portfolio commissioner, subject to State's Attorney approval; and authorize the chairman to sign: Department of Corrections, Division of Parole & Probation to provide supervision services to misdemeanor probation cases originating in Cass County, providing they are in agreement with contract modifications relayed by County Coordinator; Houston Engineering, Inc. for design of replacement bridge crossing the Sheyenne River in Horace; The Title and Escrow Company for remote access to county computer system; Fargo Community Health Center for adult services social work outreach. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. NORTH DAKOTA INSURANCE RESERVE FUND, Defensive driving program Jay Crawford, North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund (NDIRF), presented a check in the amount of $1,000 as a 50% cost-share in the defensive driving program undertaken by Cass County Government. Mr. Ness asked if NDIRF will meet with the county's driving review board to review accidents on an annual basis, and Mr. Crawford said they will do that. He is presently working with County Auditor Michael Montplaisir and County Coordinator Bonnie Johnson on losses and liability incidents.
