Comm. Minutes--September 6, 1994 1246 Mr. Montplaisir requested permission to replace a copy machine in the County Auditor's Office, as well as one in Cass County Court, at a cost of $3,900 each. He said this offer expires at the end of this week, and he could pay for the copiers from the elections budget. MOTION, passed Mr. Ness moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to authorize the County Auditor to negotiate a contract for the purchase of two copy machines at a cost of $3,900 each, to be paid from the elections budget. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. Mr. Risher reminded commissioners to complete registrations for the North Dakota Association of Counties/County Commissioners Association annual convention to be held in Fargo at the Doublewood Inn on October 9-12, 1994. As host county, he asked that the following arrangements be made: Mrs. Johnson to ask the Veterans Service Officer to arrange for a color guard at the opening session; Mr. Ness to ask clergy to perform the invocation at the lunches on Monday and Tuesday, as well as the Tuesday banquet; Mrs. Johnson and Mr. Eckert to help obtain door prizes. MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to contribute ~1,500 from the commission travel budget to help pay convention expenses. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Ness seconded to receive and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. Kathy Hawken's letter of resignation from Cass County School Reorganization Board; eight letters concerning the Extension Task Force study (public meetings were held August 31 and September 1, 1994); letter from Erie Township Treasurer, Char Pueppke, stating the bridge between Sections 27-34 in Erie Township is unsafe for travel; appreciation letter from East-Central Judicial District Juvenile Court for the assistance of Chief Correctional Officer Walt Willis' in their temporary move to the Sheriff Residence on August 15, 1994, due to Juvenile Justice Center construction; information on North Dakota Association of Counties/County Commissioners Association annual convention to be held in Fargo at the Doublewood Inn on October 9-12, 1994; information on Region 8 Road Advisors' Workshop to be held in Rapid City on October 26 and 27, 1994; Officer's Reports for July, 1994.
