Comm. Minutes--June 6, 1994 1220 <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland reminded Commissioners of a welfare reform pilot project <br />meeting at 10:00 AM and a county officials gathering at 1:00 PM on <br />June 15, 1994, at Lisbon, sponsored by the North Dakota Association <br />of Counties, the Southeast Commissioners Region and the East Central <br />Commissioners Region. <br /> <br />Mr. Ness spoke of concern about the Sheriff's use of a county patrol <br />vehicle while campaigning for re-election. He received a memo from <br />the Sheriff, who does not feel he has violated county policy or state <br />law. Also, Mr. Ness said the Sheriff was recently involved in an <br />accident with a county vehicle and with a passenger who is not a <br />county employee. He suggested that the Driving Review Board, which <br />was appointed today, should call a meeting to review this accident and <br />one concerning a Social Services employee who was involved in an <br />accident during working hours. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir has results of the bond sale for the Juvenile Justice <br />Center building addition, which yielded 4.6034%. <br /> <br />Mr. Risher attended the National Association of Counties Western <br />Interstate Region Conference in Bismarck. He will write a letter to <br />Lloyd Omdahl asking him to speak in Cass County on legislative <br />lobbying, which he spoke about at the conference. <br /> <br />26. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to receive <br /> and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as <br /> follows: Motion carried. <br /> <br />letter from K. J. Steffan regarding jail inmate telephone system <br />and response from Reliance Telephone through Data Processing <br />Coordinator Mike Steiner; <br /> <br />Department of Agriculture information letter regarding state <br />statute on licensing anhydrous ammonia facilities; <br /> <br />information from North Dakota Association of Counties on <br />Excellence in County Government awards, county officials meeting <br />in Lisbon, and mention of county road survey in preparation of <br />next legislative session; <br /> <br />request for special assessment district to develop and fund <br />concrete paving of 38th Street South (I-29 service road east <br />side) from 32nd Avenue South to the drainage bridge (referred to <br />County Engineer and County Auditor); <br /> <br />Governor's Executive Order for total utilization of North Dakota <br />Emergency Operations Plan because of last summer's flooding; <br /> <br />Officer's Report for April from County Court. <br /> <br /> <br />
