Comm. Minutes--January 18, 1994 1163 <br /> <br />15. <br /> <br />16. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to send a copy of <br />the letter from County Auditor Michael Montplaisir to Bruce <br />Hoefs commending him for his professional and positive <br />attitude during changes in the superintendent of schools <br />position. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />JUVENILE JUSTICE CONFERENCE, EXTENSION TASK FORCE, MAINTENANCE <br />ASSISTANCE, 911 UPDATE, SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS, Committee reports <br />State's Attorney John Goff said the Governor's Commission on Juvenile <br />Justice tentatively set a meeting in Fargo the week of February 15th. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland reported that Extension Task Force members continue to <br />gather information, and meetings have been very interesting. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson expressed her appreciation and commended three county <br />employees who have provided assistance in the absence of maintenance <br />staff. They are Buzz Argall, Jerry Skjonsby and Michael Montplaisir. <br />Mr. Risher suggested sending them a letter of thanks from the board. <br /> <br />Mr. Ness gave an update on 911 joint dispatch saying the transition <br />from county to city is expected to take place by April 1, 1994. <br /> <br />Mr. Montplaisir has reviewed the law concerning appointment of the <br />county superintendent of schools, and he is working with school <br />officials, who will make a recommendation to the county commission. <br />He will begin advertising the position following county procedures. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Ness seconded to receive and file <br /> correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />letter from Ulteig Engineers, Inc. expressing interest in <br />providing engineering services for Water Resource Boards <br />(referred to Water Resource Districts); <br /> <br />letter from Terri and Richard Springer concerning summer of 1993 <br />flooding (referred to Water Resource Districts); <br /> <br />letter from National Association of Counties regarding radon <br />(referred to Emergency Manager, Glenn Ellingsberg); <br /> <br />letter from State Division of Emergency Management regarding <br />snow emergencies; <br /> <br />copy of letter from County Engineer Keith Berndt to North Dakota <br />Department of Transportation regarding 1994-95 construction <br />projects; <br /> <br />letter of inquiry from Terry J. Ziegelmann regarding the <br />position of Public Administrator; <br /> <br />- Officer's Reports for December, 1993. <br /> <br /> <br />
