On roll call <br /> vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />DEED TO CITY OF KINDRED, Chairman and Auditor authorized to sign <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to authorize the <br /> Chairman and the County Auditor to sign County Deed to City <br /> of Kindred. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />PERSONNEL POLICY MANUAL AMENDED, Family Medical Leave Act, Section <br />6.02; Wage and Salary Administration, Section 7.00 MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to amend <br /> Personnel Policy Manual by adding Section 6.02, Family <br /> Medical Leave Act, as recommended by the Personnel Overview <br /> Committee meeting on December 20, 1993. On roll call vote, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to amend <br />Personnel Policy Manual Section 7.00, Wage and Salary <br />Administration (page 4 of 4), as recommended by the <br />Personnel Overview Committee meeting on December 20, 1993. <br />On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CONTRACT APPROVAL, Sheriff's Department board of prisoners <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to approve and <br /> authorize the chairman to sign the contract with City of <br /> West Fargo for juvenile and adult detention as submitted by <br /> department head and portfolio commissioner, and approved by <br /> the State's Attorney. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />JUVENILE JUSTICE CENTER, Building addition estimates <br />Architect Terry Stroh displayed artist's renditions of what the <br />building will look like with three floors being added to the Juvenile <br />Justice Center. He provided a handout with building information, <br />square footage and pricing, saying the total construction estimate is <br />$3,211~605.00. Commissioners asked for suggestions on how costs can <br />be lowered because County Auditor Michael Montplaisir said county <br />funds will be about $1 million short of what is on hand. He said <br />architect's fees will raise the building cost to about $3.4 million. <br />If the Commission decides on a bond issue, this must be done by April <br />15th in order to be placed on the primary election ballot. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland suggested referring the matter back to the Space and <br />Planning Committee, as soon as possible, to look at ways to lower <br />construction costs. He asked Mr. Stroh to prepare additional cost <br />break-downs. Mr. Risher scheduled a Space and Planning Committee <br />meeting at 8:30 AM Monday, January 10, 1994, in the Commission Room. <br /> <br /> <br />
