On roll <br />call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />EXTENSION SERVICE, Task force and mission approved MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve the <br /> Extension Services Task Force and Mission as outlined. <br /> On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />ROAD DEPARTMENT, Budget adjustment for software purchase <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve County <br /> Engineer's request to purchase "AUTO-CADD" software <br /> according to his memo dated October 22, 1993. On roll call <br /> vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CONTRACT APPROVAL, North Dakota Workers Compensation Bureau/Sheriff <br />Reserve; Department of Transportation/Historical Society road paving: <br />Strgar-Roscoe-Fausch, Inc./Intergovernmental roadway policy study <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve above <br /> contracts subject to review and approval by the State's <br /> Attorney, and authorize the chairman to sign. On roll call <br /> vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />LOST INSTRUMENT BONDS, Auditor to issue duplicate checks <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to receive and file <br /> Indemnity Bonds on Lost Instrument for the following and <br /> authorize County Auditor to issue duplicate checks: Morton <br /> County Sheriff, Liberty Business Systems, Butler Machinery <br /> Company, BMI, Argusville Fire Protection. On roll call <br /> vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />HEARING ON APPRAISAL OF TAX-FORFEITED PROPERTY <br />County Auditor Michael Montplaisir said this is the date and time <br />advertised for a public hearing on the appraisal of tax-forfeited <br />property. He said there are only five properties on the list this <br />year and five properties from the previous year. The Vice Chairman <br />opened the public hearing inviting public entities to address the <br />issue of the appraisal on tax-forfeited properties. No one asked to <br />speak at this time and the hearing was closed. <br /> <br />JUVENILE JUSTICE CENTER ADDITION, Construction manager vs. general <br />contractor discussion <br />A letter was received from Attorney Douglas Herman representing local <br />contractors expressing concern about a recent decision to hire a <br />construction manager for the Juvenile Justice Center addition instead <br />of having direct services of a licensed, bonded contractor· The Space <br />and Planning subcommittee was charged with recommending a construction <br />management firm and, after interviewing three candidates, recommended <br />hiring the firm of T.L. Stroh at a negotiated fee of $80,000. <br /> <br /> <br />
