Minutes--October 11, 1993 1122 <br /> <br />17. <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />19. <br /> <br />20. <br /> <br />21. <br /> <br />22. <br /> <br />DISASTER EMERGENCY SERVICES, Certificate of Recognition <br />The chairman presented a Certificate of Recognition for Dedicated <br />Service to Lyndon Worden, Cass County Emergency Management, from the <br />Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for his work during the <br />1993 flood in Cass County. Mr. Worden thanked the board for his award <br />and said he enjoyed his tenure at Cass County. <br /> <br />ROAD DEPARTMENT, Used culverts donated to zoo project <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to authorize the <br /> County Engineer to donate three used culverts to the zoo <br /> project (to be located in the southeast corner of the <br /> junction of Interstate 94 and 45th Street), at an estimated <br /> value of ~300. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />COURTHOUSE DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT, Plans/specifications received; <br />authorize bid advertisement <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to receive plans <br /> and specifications from Lightowler Johnson Associates for <br /> storm water drainage improvements at the Courthouse, and <br /> authorize advertisement for bids. On roll call vote, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />SOCIAL SERVICES DIRECTOR, Out-of-state travel MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. wieland seconded to approve out-of- <br /> state travel for Kathy Hogan, Social Services Director, to <br /> attend a ..Re-designing Public Services" conference in <br /> San Francisco on November 19-22, 1993. On roll call vote, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />WINDSOR GREEN SUBDIVISION, Assessment list for street improvement <br />The Board considered the question of approval of the assessment list <br />for Street Improvement District No. 93-1 as confirmed by the Special <br />Assessment Commission of the County of Cass. Chairman Toussaint asked <br />if anyone in the audience wanted to address this topic, but no one <br />asked to speak on the subject. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the <br /> assessment list for Street Improvement District No. 93-1 of <br /> the County of Cass, as confirmed by the Special Assessment <br /> Commission of the County of Cass, be and the same is hereby <br /> confirmed. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />ABATEMENT HEARING, Approved for Leslie B. Ellingson MOTION, passed <br /> Upon recommendation by Frank Klein, Director of Tax <br /> Equalization, Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Risher seconded that <br /> Abatement #3972 and #3973 lot valuation be reduced to <br /> ~6,900. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Upon recommendation by Frank Klein, Director of Tax <br /> Equalization, Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Risher seconded that <br /> Abatement #3974 be adjusted to a lot value of ~5,500 and <br /> that the structure remain the same. On roll call vote, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
