Comm. Minutes--September 30, 1993 1117 <br /> <br />EXTENSION SERVICES BUDGET MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Risher seconded to set the budget <br /> for Extension Services at $195,000 for 1994. On roll call <br /> vote, the motion carried with Mr. Wieland, Mr. Eckert and <br /> Mr. Risher voting "aye"; Mr. Ness and Mrs. Toussaint <br /> opposing. <br /> <br />EMPLOYEE SALARY INCREASES MOTION, failed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Risher seconded to set employee <br /> salary increases at 3% instead of 2~%. Mr. Risher <br /> mentioned the reduction in health insurance reserves, and <br /> Bonnie Johnson said the Employee Benefits Review Committee <br /> offered to reduce health insurance reserves on behalf of <br /> county employees instead of reducing proposed salary <br /> increases. On roll call vote, the motion failed with Mr. <br /> Ness and Mrs. Toussaint voting "Aye"; Mr. Eckert, Mr. <br /> Risher and Mr. Wieland opposing. <br /> <br />WEED CONTROL BUDGET <br /> MOTION, failed <br /> Mr. Eckert moved to eliminate the 10% reduction in the <br /> county weed control budget. Motion failed for lack of a <br /> second. <br /> <br />COURTHOUSE SECURITY PROJECT MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Ness seconded to designate the <br /> first $60,000 of estate tax collections for the Courthouse <br /> security project, which consists of moving the security <br /> station to the first floor of the courthouse· On roll call <br /> vote, motion carried unanimously· <br /> <br />HISTORICAL SOCIETY MOTION, failed <br /> Mr. Eckert moved to establish the Historical Society budget <br /> at $35,000. Motion failed for lack of a second. <br /> <br />RESERVE FUNDS MOTION, failed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to cut county <br /> reserves to the same level as last year. On roll call <br /> vote, the motion failed with Mr. Risher voting "Aye"; Mrs. <br /> Toussaint, Mr. Wieland, Mr. Eckert and Mr. Ness opposing. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />REDUCTIONS OFFERED BY DEPARTMENT HEADS MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Ness seconded to approve all <br /> budget reductions as offered by county department heads. <br /> On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. Mrs. <br /> Toussaint thanked department heads who cooperated in the <br /> budget process these past couple of months. <br /> <br /> <br />
