Minutes--September 20, 1993 1108 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 20, 1993 <br /> <br />MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman Sharon "Pepper" Toussaint called the meeting to order at 3:30 <br />PM with all members present as follows: Don Eckert, Steve Risher, <br />Alon Wieland, Bernie M. Ness and Sharon Toussaint. <br /> <br />APOLOGY BY COMMISSIONER NESS, Regarding budget comments <br />Commissioner Ness apologized publicly to Commissioners Wieland and <br />Eckert for statements he made at the last budget meeting. <br /> <br />MINUTES APPROVED MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the minutes <br /> of the previous meetings of September 7, 8, and 9, 1993 be <br /> approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />AGENDA, Order approved MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to approve the <br /> order of agenda with the following changes: 1) additional <br /> Lost Instrument Bond for Patrick Healey; 2) additional <br /> travel request for Regional Child Support Enforcement Unit; <br /> 3) Memorandum of Understanding for county parking lot <br /> enforcement, which was included in the commission agenda <br /> packets but was not listed on the agenda; 4) letter <br /> praising three Social Service staff; 5) dollar amount for <br /> design contract on Juvenile Justice Center amended to <br /> ~125,000 instead of ~134,000; and 6) remove Fargo Public <br /> Schools parking request from the agenda, per Space and <br /> Planning Committee discussions earlier today. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> <br />FEDERAL AID REQUEST, Chairman authorized to sign letter <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Risher seconded to authorize the <br /> chairman to sign a letter to the North Dakota Department of <br /> Transportation requesting future year Federal funds, <br /> according to memo and attachments dated September 10, 1993, <br /> from County Engineer Keith Berndt. On roll call vote, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />ROAD DEPARTMENT, Out-of-state travel approved <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Risher seconded to approve out-of- <br /> state travel for the County Engineer and County Road <br /> Superintendent to attend Federal Highway Administration <br /> County Road Advisor's Workshop in Rapid City on October 27 <br /> and 28, 1993. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
