Minutes--September 8, 1993 1100 <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />12. <br /> <br />BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS, Reductions in carpet/tile maintenance <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Risher seconded to reduce carpet and <br /> tile maintenance line item from $50,000 to $25,000. On <br /> roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AUDITOR, Reductions in office supplies, travel and seminars <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Ness seconded to reduce office <br /> supplies line item from $2,500 to $2,250; travel line item <br /> from $4,500 to $3,000; and seminars from $3,500 to $3,000. <br /> On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />TREASURER, Reduction in travel MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Ness seconded to reduce travel <br /> line item to $500. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> Discussion: Mr. Risher suggested reducing the office supplies <br /> line item from $13,005 to $11,000, but Mr. Ness would like to <br /> hear the Treasurer's input and asked that this item be delayed <br /> until tomorrow. <br /> <br />REGISTER OF DEEDS, Reductions in office supplies and overtime <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Ness seconded to reduce office <br /> supplies line item from $7,300 to $6,300; and overtime line <br /> item from $6,000 to $3,000. On roll call vote, motion <br /> carried with four members voting "Aye", Mr. Eckert voting <br /> "No." <br /> <br />TAX DIRECTOR, Reductions in office supplies and travel MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Ness seconded to reduce office <br /> supplies line item from $400 to $350 and travel line item <br /> from $1,600 to $1,400. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> with four members voting "Aye" and Mr. Eckert voting "No." <br /> <br />PLANNER, Reduction in office supplies MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Ness seconded to reduce office <br /> supplies line item from $400 to $375. On roll call vote, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> Discussion: Mr. Risher suggested reducing consultant fees from <br /> $18,000 to $15,000 but Mr. Ness said the fees are based on the <br /> work plan and number of hours. The Planning Department's work <br /> plan will have to be changed if the fees are changed. <br /> <br />SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS, Motion tabled until meeting tomorrow <br />Ms. Johnson said the Superintendent of Schools is an appointed <br />position and Bruce Hoefs was appointed by the Cass County school <br />districts. In order to eliminate the position, the person must either <br />resign or go through removal process. Ms. Johnson spoke with <br />representatives of the Fargo Public School District and asked how <br />their office would be affected if the county superintendent was <br /> <br /> <br />
