Comm. Minutes, Special Mtg.--June 7, 1993 1035

Mr. Klein said there are 3 options in equalization: 1) Order
assessor to re-assess the whole township; 2) Have a
percentage increase across the board; or 3) Have the County
review each piece of property, making increases or decreases.
He said if an increase across the board creates an
overassessment, the assessor can review this the next year and
make changes. He said the 70% increases in Page and Tower
Townships are due to the assessors possibly not adjusting
valuations over the years.

Robert Kuklok, Supervisor from Rush River Township, asked if
the 30% increase in Rush River will be on farm or residential
property. Mr. Klein said there will be 5 residential
structures that will be affected by this increase. MOTION, passed
Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Ness seconded that
the residential structure values be increased
in the townships and in the amounts as listed
below:

Amenia 20%
Ayr 50%
Bell 10%
Berlin 20%
Buffalo 20%
Casselton 10%

Clifton 10%
Cornell 10%
Dows 30%
Durbin 5%
Eldred 30%
Everest 5%
Gardner 20%

Gill 5%
Harmony 5%
Highland 10%
Howes 20%
Maple River 10%
Page 70%
Pontiac 10%
Raymond 4%
Reed 4%
Rich 10%
Rush River 30%
Tower 70%
Walburg 20%
Warren 5%

On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

INDIVIDUAL ASSESSMENTS
Mr. Klein presented 2 individual assessments. In the first
assessment, Mr. Klein said there is a 20 acre tract owned by
Dennis and Heather Pautz that does not qualify for the farm
residence exemption as he does not farm. Mr. Klein also
recommends to add the William and Beverly Grieve residence to
the tax roll because Mr. Grieve rents out his land and
operates a crop dusting service. MOTION, passed
Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Risher seconded that
a residential structure assessment of ~15,000
be added to the Pautz property in Section 12
of Ayr Township. On roll call vote, motion
carried unanimously.
