Because of other consulting assignments <br />at this time, Mr. Quanbeck will not be available until June 21st, <br />which is agreeable to Mr. Berndt. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert asked about hours of work, and Mr. Berndt said the ongoing <br />planning services require that the consultant maintain minimum office <br />hours on a set schedule of three days per week for four hours per day. <br />The fee of $1,000 per month for technical assistance covers the <br />individual for whatever time he takes to accomplish the duties as <br />defined and the individual would not be paid overtime if those tasks <br />take that individual more time, according to Mr. Berndt. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Ness seconded to approve the <br /> County Planning Agreement between Cass County and Quanbeck <br /> Planning and Research, which includes providing technical <br /> planning assistance and rewriting/updating subdivision <br /> regulations. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />NORTH DAKOTA ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES LEGISLATIVE WORKSHOP; BUDGET <br />CALENDAR; VEHICLE POLICY; ENERGY TAX, Committee reports <br />Mrs. Toussaint reported that county officials are invited to attend <br />the North Dakota Association of Counties post-legislative session <br />workshop at the Bismarck Ramada Hotel on May 20th. Auditor Michael <br />Montplaisir and Treasurer Charlotte Sandvik plan to attend. <br /> <br />The County Finance Committee met last week, and Commissioners received <br />a copy of the 1994 budget calendar for review prior to requested <br />adoption at the next regular County Commission meeting. <br /> <br />The Vehicle Policy Committee also met last week, and discussion <br />centered around a motor pool. <br /> <br />Mr. Risher received an information letter from the National <br />Association of Counties (NACo) and at his suggestion, it was the <br />consensus of fellow Commissioners to send a letter to North Dakota's <br />U.S. congressional delegation urging them to support an exemption from <br />the proposed federal energy tax for states, counties and other local <br />governments. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to receive and file <br /> correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />letter from Sheriff's Department Emergency Services Coordinator <br />regarding tabletop exercise scheduled for May 24th; <br /> <br />North Dakota Association of Counties information on post- <br />legislative workshop at Bismarck Ramada Hotel on May 20th, 8:00 <br />AM to 4:15 PM; <br /> <br /> <br />
