Minutes--May 3, 1993 1026 <br /> <br />12. <br /> <br />13. <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Risher seconded to amend <br />Commission Policy Manual Section 4.00, Advisory Boards, to <br />appoint Jacob Gust to the Special Assessment Commission to <br />complete an unexpired term that was left vacant by Kent <br />Zabel, this term to expire December 31, 1997. On roll call <br />vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, Approved <br />Mr. Ness reviewed the list of bills for this month. He gave some <br />examples of county departments disregarding central purchasing policy <br />on purchase of office supplies and letterhead. He said the commission <br />needs to develop some cost-containment in this area. Mrs. Toussaint <br />suggested that portfolio commissioners review this at budget time. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Ness moved and Mr. Risher seconded to approve Vouchers <br /> No. 48,373 through No. 49,324. On roll call vote, motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> <br />METRO COG SALARIES, SOCIAL SERVICES, NDACo MANAGEMENT TRAINING, <br />COURTHOUSE/JUVENILE CENTER PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS, SUGGESTION BOX <br />ITEM ON HOURS OF WORK, NDACo UPCOMING EVENTS, Committee Reports <br />Mr. Eckert said the Metropolitan Council of Governments (COG) is <br />continuing to review staff salaries, and further recommendations to <br />the COG Board will be forthcoming. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland said the County Social Services Board meeting previously <br />scheduled for today was cancelled because of lack of agenda items and <br />because Director Kathy Hogan is in Bismarck. <br /> <br />Michael Montplaisir said he and the county treasurer will be in <br />Bismarck Wednesday through Friday this week attending the North Dakota <br />Association of Counties Institute of County Government management <br />training sessions. <br /> <br />Keith Berndt updated commissioners on the Courthouse and Juvenile <br />Center parking lot improvements. Work is tentatively scheduled to be <br />completed between June 1 and July 1, 1993, weather permitting. <br /> <br />Mrs. Toussaint read an item from the Suggestion Box asking about <br />county policy on office closing. Ail departments are reminded of <br />Personnel Policy 7.40 on hours of work and keeping offices open during <br />lunch hours. In two-person offices, employees should alternate lunch <br />hours. <br /> <br />Mrs. Toussaint mentioned a letter from the North Dakota Association <br />of Counties, which all Commissioners received, regarding dates of next <br />County Commissioners Association meeting on October 3-6 in Minor and <br />a county golf outing and fishing tournament June llth at Devils Lake. <br />Also enclosed was information on regional Health Task Force meetings. <br /> <br /> <br />
