Comm. Minutes--April 20, 1992 846 <br /> <br />17. <br /> <br />COURTHOUSE OFFICE SPACE, Lease with Attorney General Office terminated <br />Mr. Wieland said the County received a letter from the Attorney <br />General's Office requesting termination of their lease agreement with <br />Cass County as of June 1 or July 1, 1992, because they have secured <br />office space elsewhere anticipating that their lease wouldn't be <br />renewed in July, 1993, because of overcrowding at the Courthouse. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to terminate <br /> the lease agreement with the Attorney General's Office for <br /> office space in the south wing of the Courthouse, effective <br /> July 1, 1992. On roll call vote, motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA), Self-evaluation process <br />County Coordinator Bonnie Johnson provided information on ADA <br />requirements. She said the first step is to complete a self- <br />evaluation of current county services to identify areas of need. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Risher moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to begin the <br /> ADA self-evaluation process by forwarding the survey to all <br /> County departments for completion by June 1, 1992. On roll <br /> call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />19. <br /> <br />COMMISSION POLICY MANUAL, Policy added for county treasurer to receive <br />and Day out county money <br />All Commissioners met from 1:00-2:30 PM today to review individual <br />policies in the Commission Policy Manual. Some suggestions were made <br />for inclusion in the manual along with stylistic changes. Next meeting <br />for further review of the policy manual will be Monday, May 4th, at <br />1:00 PM in the Commission Room. <br /> <br />Mr. Shannon said Jim Brownlee, CPA with the State Auditor's Office, <br />recently performed an annual audit in Cass County and he suggested a <br />policy whereby all county money is received and paid out by the county <br />treasurer. <br /> MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Shannon seconded to adopt a <br /> policy on the county treasurer receiving and paying out all <br /> county money, and to include this in the commission policy <br /> manual which is under review. On roll call vote, motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> <br />20. <br /> <br />STATE'S ATTORNEY REQUEST, Commissioners may meet in closed session <br />with attorney on pending legal action <br />Mr. Wieland said he placed this item on the agenda to inform the <br />public that the State's Attorney is requesting a meeting, per NDCC 44- <br />04-19.1, at some future date with County Commissioners as clients on <br />a pending legal. <br /> <br />21. <br /> <br />SOCIAL SERVICES COMMITTEE REPORT, Possible co-location with Southeast <br />Human Services, Courthouse office space discussed <br />Social Services Director Kathy Hogan said she was contacted last week <br />by John Graham, Executive Director of North Dakota Department of Human <br />Services, regarding the possibility of co-locating Cass County Social <br />Services with a new Southeast Human Service Center (SEHSC) building. <br />She has discussed the possibilities with Jerry Korsmo of Southeast <br />Human Services, and she is asking for input from County Commissioners. <br /> <br /> <br />
