Comm. Minutes--August 19, 1991 723 16. 17. 18. E-911 UPDATE Glenn Ellingsberg said he is concerned about rural addressing for the 911 emergency system. He said the post office is not accepting the "R" designation that his department had assigned for rural routes so no signs have been installed. He hopes to hear from the post office by the end of this month so some signs should be installed yet this fall. Mr. Shannon expressed concern about coming on-line too soon. There is not enough money in the 911 account to pay for all of the signs this year. The cost is about $42 each, plus installation. He is waiting for a price from the County Road Department on their cost of installation, which is estimated at $35-$50 from local businesses. Mrs. Toussaint asked how much staff time is still being spent on 911 at this time, and Mr. Ellingsberg said about 25% of one staff person's time. He said 911 is self-supporting, not counting salaries and the money to pay for signs. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to receive and file correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. copy of letter from States Attorney John Goff to North Dakota State Highway Department giving official notice of intent to terminate contract for street lighting effective June 30, 1992; North Dakota Association of Counties information on computer grants and computer developments; - Officer's reports for July, 1991; comments on Personnel Policy Manual from Ginger Kaufman, Human Resources; request for input on Metropolitan Council of Governments 1992 Work Program; ADJOURNMENT MOTION, passed On motion by Mr. Risher, seconded by Mrs. Toussaint, and all voting in favor, the Chairman declared the meeting adjourned about 5:30 PM.
