<br />Comm. Minutes--July 1, 1991 700 <br /> <br />11. FORMER STATES ATTORNEY, Presentation of plaque to Robert G. Hoy <br />Chairman Shannon presented a plaque to Robert G. Hoy in commemoration <br />of his years of service in Cass County as States Attorney from <br />February 1, 1979 to December 31, 1990. <br /> <br />12. CHARTER COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS, Chairman and Vice Chairman appointed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Risher seconded to accept <br />Carolyn C. Nelson as a member of the charter commission. <br />On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to accept John T. <br />Korsmo as a member of the charter commission. On roll call <br />vote, motion carried unanimously. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Shannon gave the gavel to Vice Chair Wieland and moved, <br />seconded by Mrs. Toussaint, to accept Michael B. Unhjem as <br />a member of the charter commission. On roll call vote, <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to accept Jay <br />R. Lindgren as a member of the charter commission. On roll <br />call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Risher seconded to accept Joseph <br />Allan Nelson as a member of the charter commission. On <br />roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Risher nominated John T. Korsmo as Chairman of the Charter <br />Commission and Carolyn Nelson as Vice Chair. Hearing no other <br />nominations, the nominations were closed. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Risher moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to seat Mr. Korsmo <br />as Chair and Carolyn Nelson as Vice Chair of the Cass <br />County Charter Commission. On roll call vote, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Shannon suggested that Commissioners prepare any written concerns <br />they have for the Charter Commission's consideration and provide them <br />to the Commission Secretary by this Friday. Comments will then be <br />forwarded to John Korsmo, Chairman of the Charter Commission. <br /> <br />Mr. Risher said he plans to ask the Charter Commission not to consider <br />an unlimited mill levy for Cass County. Mr. Shannon said this <br />Commission has never favored an unlimited mill levy and he has been <br />concerned about comments regarding that also. <br /> <br />Mr. Shannon plans to ask the Charter Commission to review the 10-mill <br />road levy. <br /> <br />13. SHERIFF DEPARTMENT, Request to add 5 jail staff <br />Mr. Wieland referred to a letter addressed to the Commission from <br />Sheriff Don Rudnick requesting approval to hire five full-time jail <br />staff effective July 1st. Sheriff Rudnick was present along with Greg <br />Holm from the jail staff. <br />
