Comm. Minutes--April 15, 1991 655 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the <br />Commission does hereby concur with the current structure <br />and chain of command of the Sheriff's Office, which <br />provides for the sheriff to directly oversee three group <br />commanders comprising the three major functions of the <br />office which are Field Services, Staff Services and <br />Corrections. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Human <br />Resource Department is hereby directed to assure that all <br />first line supervisors and all other sworn personnel below <br />them are temporarily classified as non-exempt employees. <br />Mr. Wieland offered a substitute motion, seconded by Mrs. <br />Toussaint that this be subject to completion of a review of <br />the Fair Labor Standards Act. On roll call vote, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Shannon asked the States Attorney to consider a strategy to begin <br />reviewing FLSA and to work with the county auditor on budgetary costs. <br />He asked for an update the second meeting in May. <br /> <br />20. <br /> <br />PERMIT FOR SPECIAL EVENT, Approved for Old Broadway MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Risher seconded to approve a <br /> request from Old Broadway Corporation for a special event <br /> permit to sell alcoholic beverages on April 27, 1991, in <br /> the Commercial Building, Red River Valley Fairgrounds, in <br /> compliance with state law. On roll call vote, motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> <br />21. <br /> <br />POLICY MANUAL, CENTRAL PURCHASING UPDATE, FLEX TIME SCHEDULE, <br />LEGISLATIVE EFFECTS, AUDITOR'S OFFICE REMODELING/VACATED OFFICE <br />DESIGNATED FOR COMMISSIONERS, SOCIAL SERVICE FRAUD INVESTIGATOR, <br />FORMER GETHSEMANE PROPERTY, MAIN AVENUE LIGHTING, Committee reports <br /> <br />Commissioners agreed to begin review of the draft personnel policy <br />manual from 3:00-5:00 PM, Tuesday, April 23rd, in the Commission Room. <br /> <br />Mr. Risher reported a cost savings of $1,050 so far on the purchase <br />of copy paper from central purchasing. <br /> <br />Mr. Risher asked that all department heads prepare a written plan for <br />using flex time in their departments this summer, and submit it to the <br />Human Resource Department by May 1, 1991. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland asked that all department heads prepare a report to the <br />Commission on how legislation passed this session affects them. <br /> <br />The Commission went on record that they intend to use office space <br />vacated by the Tax Director since remodeling in the Auditor's Office <br />is nearly completed. <br /> <br /> <br />
