Minutes--January 21, 1991 616 <br /> <br />27. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS, Social Service mission statement development <br />meeting discussed/legislative update <br />Mrs. Toussaint said a Social Service Board meeting scheduled for <br />January 26th at 6:30 AM to develop a mission statement will be <br />rescheduled for another date. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland updated the Commission on bill drafts. He emphasized the <br />importance of getting feedback at meetings held Friday afternoons. <br /> <br />28. <br /> <br />WEST FARGO CITY COMMISSION, Ask to meet with County Commission <br />Mr. Wieland said West Fargo City Commissioners would like to meet with <br />County Commissioners to discuss the following: 1) jail procedures/ <br />how they might impact West Fargo; 2) joint dispatch; 3) roads; 4) <br />computerization. Mr. Wieland said he told them the county isn't <br />ready to address the road issue, and they are satisfied that the <br />County is looking at establishing road policy. He said West Fargo <br />would host the meeting, and suggested dates are February 25th or <br />March llth at 5:00 PM. <br /> <br />29. <br /> <br />COUNTY COORDINATOR, Activities report <br />County Coordinator Bonnie Johnson gave a report of her activities for <br />the past month. So far during the month of January, she said she <br />attended 24 meetings, of which she was responsible for preparation of <br />agendas and follow-up items. She attends regular meetings and other <br />meetings Commissioners attend plus meetings with department heads. <br />She is also working with legislation, which includes telephone <br />contacts, research and letter writing. She said she also prepared and <br />managed to get two grant applications in connection with the Model <br />Project. In the past week, she was a presenter to three service <br />clubs, which take place outside of normal working hours. After her <br />first six months as County Coordinator, she said she will provide <br />commissioners with a copy of her work plan and objectives. <br /> <br />30. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed MOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to receive and <br /> file correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: <br /> letter from Kathy and Gary Nyhof, Town and Country Roll-Off <br /> Service, agreeing to County Auditor's payment schedule on <br /> CDBG loan; notice of East Central Commissioners Association <br /> special legislative meeting at 9:30 AM, February 2nd, in <br /> Hillsboro; CDBG information letter on 1991 program <br /> distribution statements for economic development, and 1991 <br /> Community Development Loan Fund primary application <br /> approval for Daktech, Inc.; letter from Cass County <br /> Historical Society on application for FCC license and <br /> response from County Coordinator; job vacancy and personnel <br /> action report for December, 1990; Personnel Department <br /> activities report for the year 1990; quarterly customs <br /> activity report from City of Fargo; letter from Minnehaha <br /> County regarding joint services, and a response from County <br /> Coordinator; copy of letter from Governor George Sinner to <br /> John Meyer, as President of North Dakota Veterans Service <br /> Officer's Association, regarding veteran's preference; <br /> letter to Chairman from Paul Jurgens, KFGO Radio, <br /> <br /> <br />
