Minutes--January 8, 1991 601 COMMISSION SCHEDULE, Meeting dates changed Mr. Risher recommended Commission meetings be changed from the present schedule to the first and third Monday of each month beginning at 4:00 PM until completed. The exception would be those days mandated by State law at this time, which are the first Tuesday of January, April, July and October. He said the purpose of the change would be to allow the general public to attend Commission meetings. Mr. Eckert said the change would be more inconvenient for people living in rural areas. He said he also has a problem with three weeks between meetings, which happens about four times per year. If the County Commission meets at 4:00 PM, Mr. Wieland said he would prefer that Social Services change their meeting also, to possibly 1:00 PM, because meeting at 8:00 AM leaves too much time between meetings and makes more travel time for him. The time for Social Service Board meetings will be worked out between Kathy Hogan and Commissioner Toussaint. MOTION, passed Mr. Risher moved and Mrs. Toussaint seconded to change County Commission meeting dates to the first and third Monday of each month beginning at 4:00 p.m. until completed except on those days mandated by State Law at this time, which are the first Tuesday of January, April, July and October. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. 19. VOUCHERS, Approved/Road Department vehicle use policy requested Mr. Shannon reviewed the list of bills this month. He asked if Mr. Eckert is aware of the purchase of a new gasoline tank at the Road Department and if he is apprised of expenditures by the Road Department over a certain dollar amount. Mr. Eckert said he was aware of the new tank because of new Federal regulations. Mr. Shannon asked if they tried to get State funding for this purpose, and Mr. Eckert said he will look into it and report back. In addition to these bills, the City of Fargo submitted a bill for 1991 payment on the North Broadway bridge and customs service, totaling $33,250. Mr. Montplaisir recommended Commission approval to include it in this month's bills. Looking at a list of Road Department vehicles, Mrs. Toussaint asked why the County Engineer drives his personal vehicle for county business instead of driving a county vehicle. Mr. Eckert was asked to have the Road Department prepare a vehicle use policy, as soon as possible, showing who drives which vehicles and the frequency. Mr. Shannon said he will be available after the meeting to go through other details on the bills with anyone who wishes. MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to approve Vouchers #21196 through #22129 for December, 1990, with the inclusion of payment to the City of Fargo in the amount of $2§,250 for the North Broadway bridge for 1991 and the Customs Service 1991 payment of $8,000. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.
