Comm. Hinutes--December 4, 1990 575 <br /> <br />NOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondra11 seconded to adopt the <br />AGREEMENT FOR SALE/PURCHASE OF REAL PROPERTY as out]ined by <br />States Attorney Robert Hoy and recommended by the ad hoc <br />committee; and authorize the appropriate County officials <br />to take what action is necessary to complete the purchase <br />of property from Gethsemane Cathedral. On roll call vote, <br />motion carried unanimous]y. <br /> <br />17. <br /> <br />VACATING OF 9TH STREET, Between 2nd and 3rd Avenue South <br /> NOTION, passed <br /> Mrs. Toussaint moved and Hr. Eckert seconded to authorize <br /> the States Attorney and others involved to pursue with the <br /> City of Fargo the prospect of vacating 9th Street South <br /> between 2nd and 3rd Avenues, even though the County may not <br /> do anything with it in the near future. On roll call vote, <br /> motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />ROAD DEPARTMENT, Vehicle use questioned <br />Hrs. Toussaint said Commissioner Eckert was going to report at this <br />meeting on availability of a Road Department vehicle for the engineer <br />to drive rather than using his personal vehicle. Hr. Eckert said he <br />will report at the next meeting. <br /> <br />19. <br /> <br />PERSONNEL DIRECTOR, 1990 work plan to be reviewed <br />Mrs. Toussaint said it is almost one year since Personnel Director <br />Geoff Riches was hired, and she suggested writing him a letter asking <br />to review his 1990 work plan so the Commission can evaluate the <br />position to see how things are moving in that department. There were <br />no objections, and the Chairman will send a letter from the Board. <br /> <br />20. <br /> <br />CONTRACT FOR ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE, Awarded to R & O Elevator <br />Two proposals for elevator maintenance were received prior to the <br />deadline of 4:00 PH, November 27, 1990, as established by Accountant <br />Hike Montplaisir. A third proposal was received by the Auditor's <br />Office on November 29th, and Mr. Montplaisir asked the Commission to <br />decide if they want to open this proposal. The States Attorney said <br />the deadline for submitting bids is not a statutory requirement. The <br />Commission can decide not to open the proposal or they can waive the <br />fact that it wasn't received by the time specified. MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to allow for <br />opening the proposal received after the deadline so it can <br />be considered by the Commission. On roll call vote, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Hontplaisir proceeded to open and review proposals from Apollo <br />Elevator Company, F-M DaSota Elevator Company, and R & 0 Elevator <br />Company for maintenance of two elevators in the Courthouse, one in the <br />jail, and one in the Juvenile Justice Center. MOTION, passed <br /> Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to accept the <br /> proposal of R & O Elevator Company in the amount of $286 <br /> for maintenance of the Courthouse, Jail and Juvenile Center <br /> elevators, as recommended by the accountant. On roll call <br /> vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
